Starting Up

In an effort to get the creative juices flowing again (I have not drawn or painted for several months), I decided to do a drawing. This is my almost 21 - so hard to believe - grandson in one of his pensive moments. While going through my photographs to find an interesting subject, I came across this photo and was intrigued by this composition. I enjoy most doing people, but like to do them in unusual poses or situations.

I don't know if I will put this to oil, but it did seem to rev up those creative juices I spoke of earlier. Here are some other sketches that I did a couple of years ago.

  1. These are wonderful, Lokelani ~ glad to hear you are back to creating. And I can't believe you have an almost 21-yr-old grandson!

  2. Thank you so much for visiting here and your encouraging comment. I am trying really hard to get back into the swing of painting. Maybe today I will start something. I can't believe he is almost 21 either...just a child.

  5. Very good drawings, Lokelani! Congrats on getting motivated once more.
The drawing of your grandson has some nice negative spaces to create interest.
