New David Update
This is my latest. Major changes, as you can see. The mountains just seemed to overwhelm David and I just felt that had to be changed. I did not want to detract from David. I did finally give him sandals. Still not ready to sign, need to live with it this way for a while.
Mahalo for following this project. Will be back soon with the finish.

You've made some minor adjustments that made a great difference in highlighting David. I love how he seems to be looking up to the heavens and it appears to be lighter and brighter in the direction of his gaze. You've taken much care in rendering the details. You should be very proud of your hard work Lokelani.
ReplyDeleteHi Sheila: I think I really like the adjustments. Now it's all about David. Thank you so much for your comments and following this process. Really appreciated.
ReplyDeleteDavid is now the main attraction- I really like how you handled the mountains and the addition of sandals looks great! Thank you so much for sharing your process. Beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteHi Lokelani - I'm just now getting around to seeing the progress of this piece - interesting seeing the changes as they occur. I like that you made the background mountain smaller, now you really focus more on the figure. And I love his fluffy audience!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Pamo and Deborah. Yes, I am happier with the mountains now and I believe I will be finished with this painting within the week. It has truly been a learning process both about King David's life and the painting process.
ReplyDeleteWoo Hoo - David has sandals and are they beautiful! Great job with this painting and it's so good you let us see the work in progress as you worked through the challenges! I have nominated you for the Sunshine Award - it's waiting for you on my blog! You and your blog soooo deserve it!
ReplyDeleteWow Rosemary...thank you so much. Sure did not expect the Sunshine Award...Mahalo Nui Loa (thank you very much). I love his sandals too, but not sure about his feet...LOL!
ReplyDeleteLooks great Lokelani, the composition of the lambs is excellent, really focuses our attention on David)
